Calgary & area has several communities with lakes that provide year round activities - including swimming!  Fun activities all year round include; swimming, non-motorized boating, fishing, ice-fishing, skating, many include tennis courts, beach volleyball, toboganning. Several have large club houses that provide programs and activities for the community.

Lake Bonavista was the first lake community built in Calgary, started in 1968. This beautiful community, with full grown trees maintains high value with excellent location and access to many ammenities. 

Chaparral Lake Chaparral, Chaparral Ridge (no lake priveleges), Chaparral Ravine, and Chaparral Valley (no lake priveleges) make up Chaparral. 

Midnapore is a beautiful community with mature trees, the lake was created in 1976, this community is surrounded on two sides by Fish Creek Provincial Park. 

Sundance is located just to the South of Midnapore, Sundance shares a community centre with Midnapore. 

Auburn Bay is located in the South East of Calgary. The South Health Campus/Calgary hospital and the Brookfield YMCA are located immediately to the south of the community. View homes for sale in Auburn Bay.

Mahogany is located immediately to the East of Auburn Bay. The newest lake community in Calgary as of 2021. Home to Westman Village. View homes for sale in Mahogany.

The Lake at Heritage Pointe is part of the Hamlet of Heritage Pointe. Located just South of Calgary between Macleod #2a Hwy and Deerfoot #2 Hwy. 

Crystal Shores is located on the North side of the beautiful town of Okotoks Alberta. Crystal Shores Residents Association is made up of members of the Crystal Shores, Crystal Greens and some parts of the Crystal Ridge communities.

Chestermere is a little different, in that it is not a private member only lake. Public do have access points. There are three lakeside parks: Anniversary Park, Cove Park, and Sunset Park. Chestermere also does a great community job with clearing snow and flooding outdoor ice on the lake.

Elbow Valley is located just West of Calgary along Hwy 8. Three lakes, a beach and clubhouse, 30km of pathways through well preserved nature. You will find large homes with large lots in this beautiful community.

Elbow Valley West &  Elbow River Estates - do not have lake privileges at this time.

Harmony is located just West of Calgary on the North side of #1 Hwy. Alongside the new Mickleson Golf Course. A newer  community, established in 2016, will have a full range of home styles from townhomes to detached homes. 

Church Ranches is a community that started development in the 1990's on the Church family ranchlands. Located in the NW outer corner of Calgary, and is part of the Bearspaw community in Rocky View County.
